Geraldene's  Walking Tours

Geraldene Lowe Ismail is a sprightly lady who has been doing this for over 40 years. She was born & brought up here in Singapore but evacuated to Australia when WW2 broke out.  She has the most amazingly diverse ethnic background which includes Russian, Italian, Chinese, Arabic etc etc... She speaks fluent English, Malay, Italian and some Chinese. She has an encyclopedic knowledge of the anecdotes and histories of Singapore.  She is also one of the founding members of the Singapore Heritage Society and played a part in putting together that seminal book, 'Pastel Portrait', in 1984. She is lovingly known as the oldest 'Street Walker' of Singapore!

We will visit the famous Kandang Kerbau Market, see colouful vegetables, taste Indian snacks along the way and chance for 

you to drink and photograph the famous Teh Tarek Ginger Tea.  We will explore the back streets, hear the stories and visit a 

colourful Hindu Temple (must remove shoes)
