Harvest, Cook & Dine
How would you like to harvest your own vegetables, cook your own meal, learn about some of the medical and health benefits of the vegetables and fruits that you will be cooking and then enjoy a wonderful dinner amidst an Organic Farm right here in Singapore.
This is exactly what you will experience when you come and spend half a day at Evelyn and Tian Soo's Green Circle Eco Farm together with me. I will not only imparts my cooking skills but will also spices up the cooking lesson with the rich history, culture, medicinal and health value of the food and the myriad ingredients.
Itinerary
1) Served with Herbal Tea.
2) Basic Introduction to Organic Farming:
What, Why and How of Organic Farming. How to tell whether vegetables and fruits are organically grown. How safe is organic?
3)Tour of the farm and harvesting some of the vegetables by participants.
4) Cooking Demonstration of 3 dishes.
5) Cooking of the 3 dishes by participants.
6) Enjoying the prepared meal on banana and dillenia leaves amidst a farm.
Menu of dishes to be taught:
1.Orange and Herb Rice
2. Eggplant Salad with Yogurt
3. Spicy Prawns or Spicy Fish Curry
Please note that the menu is subject to change if the vegetables required are not in season. Also if it rains, you have the option of gettting all wet and muddy harvesting the vegetables or getting the good folks at the farm to harvest it for you while you relax under shelter.
The cooking adventure on the farm begins at 3pm and should end at about 7pm.
Venue: Green Circle Eco-Farm, Singapore.
Cost: S$140 per person. Children above 6 years can participate.
Cost for children, age 6 - 12, S$50 per child
